Biography

Axel Grossmann, professor of finance, completed his Ph.D. in finance at the University of Texas Pan-American and holds an MBA from the University of Texas Pan-American and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Applied Sciences, Giessen-Friedberg, Germany. He joined Georgia Southern University in 2013 after holding positions at Radford University and at the University of Texas Pan-American.

Grossmann has over 27 scholarly articles, which are published, among others, in the Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of International Money and Finance, Journal of Behavioral Finance, Journal of International Financial Markets Institutions and Money, International Review of Economics and Finance, International Review of Financial Analysis, Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, North American Journal of Economics and Finance, and Applied Economics.

In 2015, he received the M. Albert Burke Faculty Award of the Parker College of Business at Georgia Southern University. In 2016, he was selected as the Georgia Southern University Faculty Spotlight and received the W.A. & Emma Lou Crider Award for Excellence in Teaching. In 2017, he received the William A. Freeman Professor of the Year Award.

Currently, Grossmann serves as the faculty advisor of the Finance Association and the Southern Investment Association at Georgia Southern University.
