Biography
Arda Yenipazarli is a professor of operations management in the Parker College of Business, Georgia Southern University. He holds a Ph.D. (Operations Management, University of Florida, 2012) and a B.Sc. (Industrial Engineering, Sabanci University, 2007).
Yenipazarli’s research interests include green supply chain management, sustainable technologies, and applications of game theory to sustainable production and distribution systems. His research investigates the profitability and efficiency of green operations launched in order to comply with environmental legislations and/or translate corporate sustainability liabilities into profits. Yenipazarli’s research has implications for policy makers concerned with designing efficient environmental legislations. He has recently published articles in such journals as Decision Sciences Journal, Naval Research Logistics, European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, and International Journal of Production Research. Yenipazarli is the recipient of the 2017 ENRE (INFORMS Subdivision on Energy, Natural Resources and the Environment) Young Researcher Award. He is also the two-time recipient of Gary M. Davis Excellence in Research Award (earned in 2016 and 2021) for his research activities at Georgia Southern University.
Yenipazarli teaches the core operations management and six sigma courses at Georgia Southern University in addition to the MBA operations course on both Statesboro and Savannah campuses. His teaching interests include operations management, production and service operations economics, business analytics, and applied statistics and optimization.
Yenipazarli serves as an ad-hoc referee for such journals as Decision Sciences Journal, Production and Operations Management, European Journal of Operational Research, and Transportation Research Part E. He is the four-time recipient of European Journal of Operational Research Editors’ Award for Excellence in Reviewing (earned across 2018—2021). He serves on the editorial review board of Decisions Sciences Journal since 2020 and on the editorial advisory board of Transportation Research Part E: Logistics and Transportation Review since 2019. He serves as an associate editor for RAE (Revista de Administracao de Empresas)—Journal of Business Management since 2022.
Yenipazarli has been a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), and Production and Operations Management Society (POMS). He served as the treasurer of the Junior Faculty Interest Group (JFIG) of INFORMS (2014—2016) and on the INFORMS Student Affairs Committee (2015—2017), co-chaired JFIG Paper Competition (2015), and co-chaired Environment & Sustainability cluster of ENRE (2018).
