Admissions

The application process for the MBA program is relatively straightforward, although applicants should allow sufficient time to request and submit the required documentation.  The online application and all supporting documents are submitted to the College of Graduate Studies (COGS).  Once a Graduate Admissions specialist has determined the application packet is complete, the MBA director will review the application to make the admission recommendation.  You can monitor your application status online. The MBA program makes admission decisions on a rolling basis, and, so, applicants are encouraged to apply early.

Online application

Start the online application here.  After registering, the application can be completed over multiple sessions.

Transcripts

The Georgia Southern University Graduate School requires one official* copy of your transcripts from every college or university you have attended.  The transcripts must come directly from the school or its authorized agent.  Depending on the school, this may take several weeks. Georgia Southern transcripts do not need to be requested.

*Unofficial test scores and transcripts (one per institution attended) are permitted for the application process. Official documents must be submitted prior to matriculation.

GMAT

The GMAT is not required for admission to the MBA program.

Application status

Applicants can track the status of their application and materials received/required in the online application portal.

Decisions & Deadlines

Once the Graduate School has collected everything required in the MBA application, it will forward your application packet to the MBA director who will review it and make an admission recommendation, usually within 2-3 days. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible for obvious reasons. If there are problems with your application, you have time to address them. Another important reason to apply early is that not only will you will have more time to prepare for the MBA program and explore financial aid resources, if needed, you will also receive priority for graduate assistantships (campus program) if you apply by the priority deadline.

The deadlines for completed applications are as follows:

Savannah Program

Fall Semester: July 15 (Priority Deadline: March 1)

Online Program

Fall Semester: July 15
Spring Semester: November 15
International applicants are encouraged to apply at least a month before the stated deadline to ensure there is enough time to collect all the required application documents.

Financial Aid

The Parker MBA is very reasonably priced; still, it’s an investment. The good news is that it’s an investment in yourself and your future. If you will need financial aid to make it happen, we encourage you to contact Georgia Southern’s financial aid office. Their mission is to remove financial barriers to student enrollment and retention: “We seek to assure that any qualified student, who desires to pursue and complete an education at this university, can obtain appropriate resources to do so.” We recommend that you contact their office and schedule an appointment with a financial aid counselor.

If you are eligible for U.S. military educational benefits, we recommend that you contact the Georgia Southern University Military Resource Center. If you are a University System of Georgia employee, you may be eligible for tuition assistance. Please contact the Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) in Human Resources. If you are an employee, check with your employer’s human resources department; many companies have tuition reimbursement programs for certain educational programs. Finally, here are some websites that provide information about various loan programs:

Taking on debt is a serious matter. Fortunately, a Parker MBA is one of the most affordable programs available for working professionals. Warren Buffett, the American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist, reminds us that price is what you pay; value is what you get. A Parker MBA has real value. The good news is that you can recover the cost of your degree in less time than you think. If you are still on the fence, consider this wise counsel from Benjamin Franklin and former Harvard University president, Derek Bok: “An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest” (Benjamin Franklin) and “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance” (Derek Bok).
